SUSPENSE exhibition in Noto Studio Barnum, from October 14 to November 12
The SUSPENSE exhibition will open in Noto on October 14, 2017, on the occasion of the 13th Contemporary Day, promoted by Amaci, the National Association of Italian Museums and Galleries. The exhibition event includes the dialogue between two of Sicily’s most valued artists, engaged in the theme of the suspensions of existence. Salvatore Castellino, painter and sculptor and Alessandro Costagliola, they investigate the particular feeling of uncertainty and anxiety which the evolution of dramatic situations and uncertain outcome, often showed to the public in narrative or in the theater, on this occasion, in the paintings and sculptures of these two young Maestri. Their Art that wants to provoke desire and uncertainty, doubt and hesitation, wants to stir up a struggle between creative and destructive gestures, the testimony of a painful interaction. Castellino, in his painting, constructs to destroy and vice versa, returns the image to a condition before his own existence. In the terracotta works by Alessandro Costagliola, dynamic man’s movements that provide the spectator, the right dose of anxiety that leads to infantile unconsciousness and stops adults in a state of precariousness. Only in this way can the devoted journey to beauty be performed. The exhibition will be open to visitors until November 12, free entry, curated by Vincenzo Medica for Studio Barnum.
